In May, the Deschutes County housing market saw a slight uptick in median listing prices compared to the previous month, but a decrease compared to the same month last year. The number of active listings grew notably year over year, while the market experienced mixed results in terms of median days on market and new listings. Meanwhile, pending listings were up month over month, but down significantly compared to the previous year.

For buyers, the increase in active listings year over year may provide more options to choose from. However, the decrease in pending listings year over year suggests that the market could be more competitive, so buyers should be prepared to act quickly. For sellers, the current market conditions could be favorable, as the slight increase in median listing prices month over month and the reduced number of days on market indicate that properties are selling faster.
